Ruling Party Meets with Prime Minister and Aides Ahead of Parliamentary Audit


Seoul: The ruling Democratic Party (DP) convened with Prime Minister Kim Min-seok and senior presidential aides on Sunday to address key policy issues in preparation for the National Assembly’s annual audit scheduled for this week. The meeting occurred at the prime minister’s residence on the last day of the extended Chuseok holiday.



According to Yonhap News Agency, DP leader Jung Chung-rae, floor leader Kim Byung-ki, presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik, and senior presidential secretary for political affairs Woo Sang-ho were present at the closed-door session. The discussions were anticipated to focus on reform agendas and livelihood-related policies to be emphasized during the regular parliamentary session set to commence on Monday.



The Democratic Party has been advocating for several legislative reforms and has urged Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae to attend the Legislation and Judiciary Committee’s audit session on Monday.
