Preorders for Galaxy S26 Series Hit 1.35 Million in South Korea

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced that preorders for its Galaxy S26 series smartphones in South Korea have reached 1.35 million units, marking a new record for its flagship S series. The company highlighted that this figure has surpassed the approximately 1.3 million preorders recorded for the Galaxy S25 lineup in 2025.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung revealed that the premium Ultra edition of the Galaxy S26 series accounted for 70 percent of the total preorders, indicating strong demand for high-end smartphones. Among the three models in the latest series - the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra - the Ultra edition emerged as a popular choice.

Samsung reported that white and black were favored options for the Ultra and the base model, while the Galaxy S26+ saw a preference for black and violet. Notably, the Galaxy S26 Ultra includes the industry's first built-in privacy display and operates on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, offering a 39 percent improvement in neural processing unit performance over its predecessor.

Consumers who preordered the devices can activate them through South Korea's mobile carriers starting Friday. The official release is set for Wednesday in South Korea, the United States, Britain, and India.
