INCHEON: Lee Sun-kyun, famed for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” has requested a lie detector test to prove his innocence in an ongoing drug investigation. Lee, through his legal representative, submitted this request to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency. He has undergone three rounds of police questioning regarding allegations of marijuana and other illegal drug use at the residence of a hostess in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee claims he was unknowingly administered the drugs by the hostess, and both brief reagent and lab-based drug tests conducted by the National Forensic Service have returned negative results. Lee’s legal team insists on the necessity of a polygraph test to scientifically ascertain the truth, as the hostess reportedly told police that Lee used drugs at her home multiple times. The actor’s lawyer also requested that future police questioning be conducted privately, citing the public scrutiny Lee is facing. The police are considering the request for a lie detector test.
