Babymonster’s Debut Single ‘Batter Up’ Achieves 200 Million Views on YouTube
SEOUL– Babymonster, a newly formed girl group under YG Entertainment, has seen its debut single’s music video, “Batter Up,” surpass 200 million views on YouTube. The K-pop agency announced this milestone achievement on Saturday.
According to the Yonhap News Agency, the “Batter Up” music video reached the 200 million view mark on Friday afternoon, just 53 days after its release. This achievement sets a new record, making it the fastest music video for a K-pop debut single to cross this threshold. Babymonster made a highly anticipated debut in November, marking the first girl group launched by YG Entertainment in seven years following BLACKPINK.
The group comprises six members from three Asian countries — South Korea, Thailand, and Japan. The members, Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita, were selected through an open competition. Babymonster is scheduled to release its second single, “Stuck in the Middle,” on February 1.
