PYONGYANG – Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Vladimirovich Ruzenkov is set to visit North Korea this week, amid signs of closer relations between Pyongyang and Moscow, according to North Korea’s state-run media.
According to Yonhap News Agency, The Korean Central News Agency reported that Ruzenkov’s visit, scheduled from Tuesday to Friday, comes as Belarus continues to support Russia’s actions in Ukraine, aligning closely with Moscow—one of Pyongyang’s key allies. While specifics of his itinerary remain undisclosed, Ruzenkov is expected to meet with his North Korean counterpart, Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. The visit is anticipated to focus on bilateral cooperation and enhancing three-way ties that include Russia. This trip follows recent discussions between North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Im Chon-il and Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Evgeny Shestakov in Pyongyang, aimed at bolstering high-level diplomatic exchanges.
