The NORM Safety Center was established to strengthen and expand the investigation on the products that are suspected to contain excessive amounts of NORMs with reinforcement of special experts and analytical equipment, and has been in operation since last November. The Center is providing a service that measures radiation levels of latex mattresses purchased in foreign countries and other products suspected to produce radon.

There, he said a case like the last year's radon emitting mattresses cannot be tolerated anymore and stressed that every single piece of those products should be all eliminated off from our life in 2019.
Chairperson Uhm encouraged the staff at the center to look into every report submitted to the center and provide the radon measurement service accepting requests of the public as much as possible.
