A new YouTube clip shows what happens when an iPhone falls from a Dubai skyscraper and survives with hardly a scratch.

Photographer Catalin Marin was shooting the skyline when a strong gust of wind blew his iPhone to the ground.

The phone was in video mode and recorded all the dizzying moments of the plunge.

“I had a bit of a mishap this morning – shooting from the 40th floor, my phone decided to go for a ride into the wind,” said Marin, who posted the video clip on his Instagram page.

The 40-second video shows the phone spinning in the air before it hits the ground. The screen goes black when it lands, but remained intact.

He also posted pictures of both sides of the phone.

“The left is the back without the cover (small dint at the bottom) and the right is the full phone with the intact screen,” he wrote.
