BRUSSELS-- The European Union recently launched an online world sanctions map, showing North Korea topping the list of restrictions.

The EU Sanctions Map (www.sanctionsmap.eu) is designed to help users easily find up-to-date information on sanctions being implemented in the EU via the Internet so that they can avoid transactions with countries, companies or individuals sanctioned by the United Nations or EU.

The digital map contains the names of countries under punitive steps, specification on their restrictive measures, list of individuals or entities subject to U.N. or EU sanctions, their sanctioned items and business guidelines.

At present, 33 countries are marked on the map as they are related to illegal activities like the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and terrorism.

North Korea shows 35 restrictions, the most among the nations under sanctions.
