Kuala lumpur: Foreign Minister Cho Hyun met with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday to discuss ways to advance their countries’ bilateral ties, including high-level exchanges, the foreign ministry said.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit. Cho emphasized that high-level exchanges between the two countries are ongoing, highlighting his visit to India just two months ago.
Jaishankar expressed that India places significant importance on its relationship with South Korea and aims to enhance their bilateral ties through strategic communication and comprehensive cooperation.
Both sides agreed to continue expanding high-level exchanges. The top Indian diplomat also requested a visit from South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to India at a mutually convenient date, as stated by the ministry.
