San diego: Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has extended his hitting streak to seven consecutive games, maintaining his impressive performance in August. Lee went 1-for-4 during the Giants’ 4-3 victory over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Jung-hoo has recorded at least one hit in 15 of the 16 games played so far in August. The month began with an eight-game hitting streak, which matched his season high. After a brief setback, going 0-for-3 against the Washington Nationals on August 10, Lee has since hit safely in seven straight games.
For the season, Lee holds a batting average of .260, while his performance in August has been particularly strong with a .333 average. In the game against the Padres, he continued his streak with a single to center field in the top of the third inning. He also grounded out twice, in the first and eighth innings, and hit a flyout to center in the fifth inning.
As a second-year player, Lee batted .324 in April but experienced a slump in the following months, hitting just .231 in May and .143 in June. However, he began to rebound in July with a .278 average and has been a consistent presence in the Giants’ lineup this August.
