GM Korea, Kia, Porsche Announce Recall of Over 15,000 Vehicles Due to Faulty Parts

SEOUL – Three major car manufacturers, GM Korea Co., Kia Corp., and Porsche Korea, have announced a recall of over 15,000 vehicles because of defective components, the transport ministry reported on Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, GM Korea is set to recall 9,627 units of its Trax Crossover model due to a software error in the dashboard. Similarly, Kia Corp. will recall 6,106 units of its Soul electric vehicle, prompted by a programming fault in the electronic parking brake system. Porsche Korea plans to recall 79 units of its Porsche 911 model, addressing a software issue in the airbag control unit.

The transport ministry provided a photo on November 28, 2023, detailing the recall measures for GM Korea Co.'s Trax Crossover model.
