GM Korea Co., the local unit of U.S. carmaker General Motors Co., said Wednesday that its sales in February grew 13.3 percent from a year earlier, driven by robust demand at home and abroad.

The carmaker said in a press release that it sold 44,610 units last month, compared with 39,381 units a year earlier.

Its domestic sales jumped 24.6 percent on-year to 11,417 units, while overseas shipments also expanded 9.8 percent to 33,193 units.

During the first two months of the year, its cumulative sales rose 3.1 percent to 93,804 units, the company said.
