Hanwha Aerospace Secures $174 Million Supply Deal with Vertical Aerospace Ltd.

SEOUL — Hanwha Aerospace Co. announced on Thursday that it has signed a 235.6 billion-won (US$174 million) component supply deal with British aircraft manufacturer Vertical Aerospace Ltd.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean aerospace company will supply tilting and blade system components for Vertical Aerospace's VX4, an unmanned electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, until 2036. Vertical Aerospace aims for a 2026 commercial release of the VX4 and has already secured orders for over 1,450 units from aviation companies worldwide. The deal was finalized at this year's annual Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition in Seongnam, south of Seoul.
