Hyundai Motor Reports Decrease in March Sales Amid Domestic Market Slowdown

SEOUL - Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's top automaker, experienced a 3.7 percent decline in its March sales compared to the previous year, driven by a reduction in demand within the South Korean market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor sold 369,132 vehicles in March, a decrease from the 383,396 units sold during the same period last year. The company detailed that domestic sales dropped significantly by 16.1 percent to 62,504 units, while exports saw a slight decrease of 0.7 percent, totaling 306,628 units for the month.

In the domestic market, Hyundai Motor reported sales of 15,302 sedans, which included 6,100 units of its Grandeur model. The recreational vehicle segment in South Korea saw sales of 21,979 units, with the Santa Fe model contributing 7,884 units to this total. Furthermore, Hyundai's luxury segment, under the Genesis brand, managed to sell a combined total of 11,839 units within the country.
