Jungkook’s “Seven” Becomes Fastest Song to Reach 1 Billion Streams on Spotify
SEOUL: Jungkook, a member of K-pop group BTS, set a new record on Tuesday when his debut solo single “Seven” became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the song, featuring American rapper Latto, achieved this milestone in just 108 days, breaking the previous record set by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which took 112 days.
Upon its release on July 14, “Seven” immediately climbed to the top of Spotify’s Daily Top Song Global chart with 15,995,378 streams, marking Jungkook as the first K-pop soloist to debut at the chart’s apex. The song also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and later ranked as the third most-streamed song of the summer on Spotify.
Jungkook is set to release his first solo album, “Golden,” this Friday. The album will feature 11 tracks, including “Seven,” “3D,” and the lead track “Standing Next to You,” according to his agency, BigHit Music.
