Korea EximBank may finance projects of Lukoil in Uzbekistan
Bishkek (AKIpress) – The Russian Oil company Lukoil is holding talks with Korea EximBank on funding its projects in Uzbekistan, said the head of the company, Vagit Alekperov.
Alekperov did not report other details about the negotiations.
Lukoil and the contracting consortium led by Hyundai Engineering (South Korea) signed a contract on supply of equipment, as well as on construction of Kandym gas processing plant worth $2.66 billion in February 2015. The loans of South Korean bank will be used for implementation of the construction of Kandym gas processing plant with capacity of 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2018.
Lukoil implements Kandym project in cooperation with the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz in the framework of the Production Share Agreement (PSA) on Kandym-Khauzak-Shady-Kungrad project since 2004. Kandym group includes six gas condensate fields, such as Kandym, Kuvachi-Alat, Akkum, Parsankul, Khoji and Western Khoji.
