Korea Glocal Education Fair Launches in Yeosu to Shape Future of Learning


Yeosu – The Korea Glocal Education Fair opened on Wednesday in Yeosu, offering a platform to discuss educational directions in the digital era. The five-day event, hosted at Expo Ocean Park, has attracted around 900 participants, including Education Minister Lee Ju-ho, and officials from various regional government and educational bodies.



According to Yonhap News Agency, The fair, running through Sunday under the theme “Education for Coexistence and Sustainable Future,” was inaugurated with remarks from Education Minister Lee and South Jeolla Gov. Kim Yung-rok. The event promises to explore innovative educational models that cater to the unique needs of the region, such as accommodating a diverse student body from multicultural backgrounds and enhancing small-scale schools in rural areas.



Prominent figures, including Harvard Law School Professor Michael Sandel, delivered keynote addresses, setting the stage for a series of lectures and discussions on future education trends. The fair features interactive exhibits like the Glocal Future Classroom, where digital technology and robotics are integrated into learning environments, illustrating potential educational practices for 2030. The event will also include cultural exchanges and performances, aiming to foster a broader dialogue on sustainable and inclusive education solutions.
