Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Wednesday asked for the public's cooperation in ensuring safety at K-pop group BTS' comeback concert in central Seoul this weekend. The group is set to perform at Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday, where hundreds of thousands of fans and visitors are expected, prompting authorities to prepare crowd control and other safety measures.
According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee emphasized the importance of public cooperation in a message posted on social media platform X. He stated that relevant ministries, the local government, police, firefighting, and other agencies are making comprehensive preparations to ensure the event proceeds safely. Lee also urged attendees to follow directions from on-site safety personnel and to report any instances of ticket scalping, which he noted undermine market order.
In addition to these calls for cooperation, the government has announced plans to enhance security measures ahead of the concert. This includes raising the official terror alert by one notch for parts of central Seoul from midnight Wednesday until midnight Saturday, further underscoring the importance of public vigilance and adherence to safety protocols during the event.
