SEOUL, Luc Donckerwolke, executive vice president of Hyundai Motor's design center, will be in charge of vehicle designs of Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. from next month, Hyundai Motor Group said Monday.

The former Lamborghini and Bentley designer will start his new job as chief design officer of Hyundai, Genesis and Kia vehicles from Nov. 1. He is replacing Peter Schreyer, who shifted his position to the Korean auto giant's design management team last month, Hyundai said in a statement.

Donckerwolke joined Hyundai Motor Design Center in 2016 as the company valued his expertise and experience in super car designs, it said.

Executive Vice President Thomas Schemera in charge of Hyundai's performance-oriented cars unit will work in the carmaker's product planning division from Thursday, the automaker said.
