The Foreign Ministry (Minister Kang Kyung-hwa) will conclude a mutual cooperation memorandum with the Chungcheongbuk-do (Dojisa Ishijong) at the Foreign Ministry’s Office on May 4.30.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized cooperation with the local governments for strengthening public diplomatic capacity. As part of this, the MOU was signed with the province of Chungcheongbuk-do.
In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support the success of the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Master to be held in Chungju between 8.30-9.6 this year and actively support large-scale international events such as “Chinese International Student Festival” with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding.
The memorandum of understanding also includes information exchange between the economic sector such as exploring overseas markets in Chungbuk and information on culture, arts, sports and tourism cooperation.
In addition, the two organizations will cooperate with each other to strengthen their national diplomatic capacity, which is currently being promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Through the Memorandum of Understanding, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes to contribute to the strengthening of national diplomatic capacity through diversification of diplomacy while supporting foreign cooperation of local governments.
