VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Wednesday voiced hope for "very useful" talks with President Vladimir Putin about regional stability as he arrived in Russia on the eve of his first meeting with the Russian leader.
Kim made the remarks during a Russian media interview upon arriving in the Russian border city of Khasan on his way to the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok where he and Putin are set to hold the summit on Thursday.
"While receiving warm hospitality from Russian people, (I believe) this visit will be a very salutary and successful one," he said.
"During the meeting with your president, (I) will exchange opinions on many issues and I believe (the summit) will be an opportunity for very useful dialogue in stably managing and jointly adjusting the situation in this region," he added.
Kim arrived in Vladivostok in the afternoon.
