Seoul: Prime Minister Kim Min-seok stated on Tuesday that the South Korean government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim emphasized during a Cabinet meeting that the government's response is comprehensive, following the recent U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran which have triggered military reactions throughout the region. "The situation in the Middle East is very fluid," Kim noted, highlighting that President Lee Jae Myung is currently on state visits to Singapore and the Philippines.
Kim assured that all governmental capabilities are being mobilized to prioritize the safety and protection of overseas nationals. He directed the foreign ministry and other relevant agencies to disseminate information regarding the crisis promptly and transparently, aiming to prevent public anxiety.
Furthermore, Kim urged the South Korean public to trust the government's measures and continue with their daily activities without undue concern.
