Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty in Seoul Subway Station Stabbing Case

Seoul: In a recent trial at the Seoul Central District Court, prosecutors have called for the death penalty for Cho Seon, the suspect in a stabbing incident near a subway station in southern Seoul last July. Cho Seon was indicted for fatally stabbing one individual and injuring three others. The incident, characterized by the fact that all victims were strangers to the assailant, has heightened public concern over random attacks in South Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the severity of the crime and its impact on public safety were key factors in the prosecution's demand for the death penalty. The case has drawn significant attention due to its random nature and the degree of violence involved.
