South Korean Defense Ministry said that the country has stepped up vigilance against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by deploying its medium-range surface-to-air missile, named KM-SAM or Cheongung, near inter-Korea borders.
The missile is placed on the Five West Sea Islands region, which is much closer to DPRK than to ROK.
Earlier on Thursday the DPRK announced it would nullify all inter-Korea relations and dispose all assets left behind by South Korean businesses.
The DPRK made the announcement two days after South Korea launched unilateral sanctions on the country.
