Samsung Display Unveils Innovative Foldable Displays at CES 2024
LAS VEGAS – Samsung Display Co., a leading screen manufacturer and an affiliate of Samsung Electronics Co., showcased a diverse range of foldable displays designed for mobile devices and other applications at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company’s exhibition, themed “All-in Innovative Tech: Paving the new journey,” was inaugurated on Saturday, ahead of the official opening of CES 2024. The tech show is scheduled to run for four days starting Tuesday in Las Vegas.
A key highlight of the exhibition is the InandOut Flip, a revolutionary foldable smartphone display with a 360-degree folding feature. This technology significantly reduces the need for a secondary external display when the device is folded, contributing to a slimmer design.
The company also plans to demonstrate the durability of its foldable smartphone under extreme conditions at the event. The device will undergo tests involving exposure to temperatures as high as 60°C and as low as -20°C, sand abrasion, and water submersion, to showcase its robustness.
Other innovative foldable products featured at the showroom include the Rollable Flex, which can be rolled and unrolled like a roll of toilet paper, expanding up to five times its size, and the Flex Hybrid, combining both foldable and slidable technologies.
Additionally, Samsung Display will introduce its latest advancements in automotive display panels. Among these is the Flex Note Extendable, an 11-inch foldable panel that can unfold into a 13-inch monitor and further extend to a 17-inch screen. This panel is designed to provide an enhanced multimedia experience and work efficiency in confined spaces.
Samsung Display, known for supplying flexible panels to Samsung Electronics, emphasizes its commitment to foldable technology, evident in the release of the Galaxy Fold 5 and Flip 5 smartphones last summer.
