SEOUL, Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday its staffs are engaged in volunteer work for a local facility for single parents, and donated washer and dryer products.

The South Korean tech giant said it provided the home appliances to Seoul-based Aeranwon, saying the 14-kg capacity dryer will especially be useful for single parents with infants in the monsoon season.

Aeranwon, established in 1960, offers assistance to single parents, including teenagers, and has been seeking financial support.

Samsung said it also provided consulting services for single parents to help them become independent of the facility.

"We plan to have numerous Samsung staffs take part in supporting welfare facilities that need attention from society," Samsung said.
