SEOUL – Samsung Electronics Co., a leading South Korean technology firm, is actively promoting Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo through various advertising initiatives in major European cities.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung has installed billboards in central London areas such as Knightsbridge and Kensington to showcase the attractions of Busan, the southeastern port city of South Korea. The company is also leveraging massive LED boards at iconic locations like London’s Piccadilly Circus and Madrid’s Callao Square to feature promotional videos for the Busan expo. These videos have been displayed approximately 300,000 times since September last year.
The final decision on the host city for the 2030 World Expo will be made during a general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris on Tuesday. Busan is in competition with Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome, Italy, for the prestigious event.
