All eyes will be on Samsung's mid-range smartphone Galaxy J5 (2016) now that the much-hyped Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge have been unveiled.
People will expect big things from the Galaxy J5 (2016) after the success of its predecessor. A mid-range smartphone such as this can be more popular than expected, as not everyone can afford premium devices from the Galaxy S and Note series.
The South Korean electronics giant hasn't revealed any detail about the Galaxy J5 (2016), but several leaks have given a strong hint that its release is not far off. The device is expected to be launched along with the Galaxy J7 in June. Both the devices have passed Bluetooth SIG certification, so it won't come as a surprise if they are launched earlier than expected.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) has also been spotted on Zauba, a website that keeps track of imports and exports in India, with model number SM-J510FN. It was imported from South Korea to India for testing purposes, and came with a price tag of Rs 17,031. However, the actual price is expected to be more when it hits the stores.
According to GFXBench, the Galaxy J5 (2016) will sport a 5.2-inch display with a 1,280x720 pixel resolution, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and an Adreno 306 GPU. There are reports that the device will come packed with 16GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, a 12MP main camera, and a 5MP front-snapper.
The device is very likely to come running Google's latest operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as the Galaxy J5 2015 version is also expected to be upgraded to the new firmware, though the schedule is not known.
