Samsung to Introduce Galaxy Ring at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

BARCELONA - Samsung Electronics Co. is gearing up to unveil the Galaxy Ring, a new smart device concept, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain. Announced on Sunday, this initiative aligns with Samsung's strategy to integrate artificial intelligence technologies across a broader spectrum of devices, aiming to enhance personalized healthcare experiences for users.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Galaxy Ring is presented as an innovative health-oriented form factor, designed to simplify daily wellness routines. It represents an effort to facilitate smarter, healthier living through a more interconnected digital wellness ecosystem, specifically through the Samsung Health platform. Samsung plans to showcase the latest ring-type device in three distinct colors at the MWC, which is scheduled to commence on Monday (Spain time) in Barcelona.

However, the devices will be displayed within transparent boxes, which means that MWC attendees will have limited opportunity for hands-on interaction. The unveiling of the Galaxy Ring follows its initial teaser during the Galaxy S24 Unpacked event last month in California. Samsung anticipates that the Galaxy Ring will be available for purchase in the second half of 2024, marking a significant expansion of the company's wearable technology portfolio.
