Seoul: SK Hynix on Wednesday reported its third-quarter net income of 12.59 trillion won (US$8.8 billion), up 119 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 11.38 trillion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 7.02 trillion won a year ago. Revenue rose 39.1 percent to 24.44 trillion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the earnings exceeded market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 8.84 trillion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
