With this goal, Son is now tied for third in the league this season, sharing the spot with Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United and Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth, trailing only three goals behind leader Erling Haaland of Manchester City. His performance earned him the Man of the Match title. Following this win, Tottenham has climbed to fourth in the league standings, accumulating 36 points after 18 matches, positioning them two points ahead of Manchester City. Son's career in the Premier League now boasts 114 goals, placing him 23rd on the league's goals list, with Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling next in line, each with 120 goals. Tottenham's lead in the match was initiated by Richarlison's goal nine minutes in, followed by Son's goal in the 18th minute.
