South Korea Initiates Proposal for Trilateral Foreign Ministerial Talks with Japan and China in Busan

Seoul, South Korea — South Korea has proposed hosting trilateral diplomatic talks with Japan and China in late November, an idea Japan is considering positively, according to a report by Japanese media.

Yonhap News Agency confirmed that Kyodo News, citing diplomatic sources, reported that South Korea, currently the rotating chair of the trilateral framework, has suggested holding the talks around November 26 in Busan. The meeting in Busan would likely include South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin and his counterparts from Japan and China, Yoko Kamikawa and Wang Yi, respectively.
