SEOUL – South Korea and the United States have finalized an agreement allowing the export of fresh ginseng to the U.S., while also permitting the import of Texas grapefruits into South Korea, according to government officials.
According to Yonhap News Agency, negotiations with U.S. quarantine authorities began in 2017, focusing on the export of fresh ginseng cultivated in designated South Korean areas. In parallel, discussions initiated in 2019 to import Texas grapefruits culminated in an agreement this March, establishing protocols for disease and insect control to facilitate trade.
