The 5th Korean-Kazakh Consul Council will be held in Seoul on October 30, 2019 under the auspices of the Consul-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The two sides agreed that the potential of cooperation between the two countries is great and assessed that the human exchange between the two countries has been continuously increasing since the “General Passport Visa Exemption Agreement” came into effect in November 2014.
In addition, the two countries agreed to cooperate with each other to reduce illegal immigrants and to cooperate with each other in order to reduce the illegal immigrants, including the period of self-emigration.
Currently, the illegal stay rate of Kazakhstan is 37.2%, which is higher than the average (15%).
The Korean government has actively sought to resolve the difficulties related to the labor permit requirements for visa extensions for residents of Kazakhstan, and Kazakhstan intends to make efforts to resolve the issue, including cooperation with related ministries.
The two sides agreed to immediately terminate the written consent of the “Treaty on the Transfer of the Korean-Kazakh Statutory Prisoners” that has been negotiating between them, and to steadily prepare domestic procedures for signature and early entry into force this year.
The two sides assessed that this meeting was a useful opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the consular field between the two countries, and emphasized the importance of cooperation in consular affairs as a means of promoting exchanges among the people of the two countries and further promoting cooperation in various fields such as politics, I will be aware of this.
The next meeting has agreed to hold the meeting at an appropriate time in Kazakhstan.
