Two Dead, One in Cardiac Arrest Following Bus-Van Collision in Boeun Tunnel
BOEUN, South Korea – A collision between a tourist bus and a van inside Suriti Tunnel on the Dangjin–Yeongdeok Expressway resulted in two fatalities and one person in cardiac arrest, according to local officials.
According to News Releases by Yonhap News Agency, stating that the accident occurred at 8:55 a.m. on Saturday when the tourist bus rear-ended the 15-seat van. Two of the 11 passengers in the van died, and another is in cardiac arrest and has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
Eight additional passengers in the van sustained injuries, with four of them being severe. Meanwhile, two out of the 26 passengers on the bus were also injured.
Police are currently investigating to determine the exact cause of the crash.
