SEOUL — President Yoon Suk Yeol has appointed Jeong Hye-jeon, previously a deputy secretary for public relations, as the new spokesperson for the presidential office, announced the office on Monday. Jeong brings a diverse background in journalism and business to her new role, having previously worked as a reporter, anchor, and later in corporate communications.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Jeong’s extensive experience in media and strategic communications at firms like McKinsey and Company, and her recent role within the presidential office, prepare her well for this key position. Lee expressed confidence that Jeong would enhance the administration’s interactions with the media. Additionally, Yoon’s reshuffle included appointing the former presidential spokesperson, Kim Soo-kyung, as the new vice minister at the unification ministry, and current vice unification minister, Moon Seoung-hyun, is reportedly set to become the ambassador to France.
