Seoul: Eight people were injured following a fire in an apartment facilities office in the southeastern city of Gyeongsan, police and city officials said. The incident occurred after a suspected explosion inside the office at 8:29 a.m., where several people had gathered. Elderly individuals inside a senior center adjacent to the office were also among those injured.
According to Yonhap News Agency, one of the injured individuals is in serious condition. A witness claimed that a person appeared to enter the office carrying flammable material before igniting the fire. Another witness described hearing explosive sounds and seeing multiple individuals with their bodies on fire fleeing the building.
The gathering at the office was reportedly for a discussion on the apartment's management regulations. Police intend to investigate the exact cause of the incident by questioning those present at the scene.
