Seoul Man Booked for Deriding Victims of Fatal Crash

SEOUL — Seoul police have detained a man in his 20s for allegedly leaving a derogatory note at the site of a tragic car accident in central Seoul, which resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to seven others. The incident has sparked considerable public outrage.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect turned himself in on Thursday after his note garnered significant attention online and in media reports. The note, which defamed the deceased, was left at an impromptu memorial where mourners had placed flowers. The police have charged him with defaming the deceased and are conducting further investigations to ascertain his motives and the context of his actions. Additionally, police are investigating another similar note found at the crash site and three related online posts.
