Police Investigate Online Threat Against Former PPP Leader Han Dong-hoon

SEOUL — South Korean authorities are currently investigating an online threat made against former People Power Party chief Han Dong-hoon. The Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency reported that early Monday, an alarming post was discovered on an internet community threatening the former political leader with physical harm.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the post titled "I'm going after Han Dong-hoon with a knife," included a photograph of Han alongside former Land Minister Won Hee-ryong. The poster claimed to be seeking revenge with "an egg and a knife" as stated in the message timestamped at 10:50 a.m. In response to this threat, the police have initiated a search for the suspect by tracking the IP address associated with the post. Additional security measures have been implemented, including deploying a patrol car near Han's residence to ensure his safety.
