PARIS—In preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games, South Korea will establish a temporary consular office in Paris to support its nationals, the country's foreign ministry announced Tuesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, The temporary office will be located within the South Korean Embassy in France and will operate from Wednesday, local time, through August 12, the day after the Olympics' closing ceremony. This initiative is part of South Korea's broader strategy to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens during international events. The office will focus on preventing incidents, providing emergency consular assistance, and strengthening cooperation with French law enforcement. A ministry official emphasized the enhanced security measures, including anti-terrorism protocols, given the current global security challenges and specific regional tensions.
This temporary consular office follows South Korea’s practice of providing dedicated support to its nationals during major global sporting events like the Olympics and the World Cup.
