EAST SEA – A guided rocket was unintentionally launched from a patrol boat during a mock test conducted by the Navy, resulting in no damage.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the incident involved a 130-millimeter Biryong guided rocket that was accidentally fired and landed in the East Sea. The mishap occurred when a maintenance officer mistakenly conducted the test in operational mode instead of training mode. There were no injuries or material damages reported as a result of the discharge.
The Navy has announced plans to conduct a thorough analysis to determine why safety protocols were not followed. Additionally, measures are being devised to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
