INCHEON: The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) and Interpol have launched a three-day international conference in Incheon to explore strategies for addressing the evolving global security landscape and emerging threats. The inaugural Interpol Future of Policing Congress, held at the Songdo Conventia, convenes approximately 90 participants, including law enforcement and security experts from Interpol and representatives from 37 countries such as Canada, Japan, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates. According to Yonhap News Agency, the conference, which began on Wednesday, is the first of its kind and focuses on the theme of changes in the future security environment and the corresponding responses by law enforcement agencies. The event is set to run until Friday, coinciding with the Korea Police World Expo 2024, which takes place from Wednesday to Saturday at the same venue. The conference is structured around three sub-themes. Participants will examine the future of law enforcement in light of global meg atrends, assess how forthcoming changes will impact law enforcement agencies, and discuss strategies for coordination and preparation. The KNPA emphasized the importance of these discussions in equipping law enforcement agencies to effectively navigate future challenges.
