Seoul: South Korea and Poland have reached an agreement to enhance their joint response to North Korea's deployment of troops to Russia, amid concerns over escalating military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. The decision came after a summit between South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Polish President Andrzej Duda on Thursday, where both leaders condemned the move and pledged to strengthen security and defense industry ties. According to Yonhap News Agency, the leaders expressed their apprehension following confirmations from South Korea and the United States that North Korea had sent troops to Russia, potentially to support its conflict with Ukraine. During a joint press conference, President Yoon stated, "We strongly condemned North Korea's nuclear and missile development, provocations and its illegal military cooperation with Russia." The summit underscored the leaders' agreement that North Korea's troop deployment to Russia constitutes a violation of the United Nations Charter and U.N. Sec urity Council resolutions. President Yoon emphasized that such actions represent a provocation threatening global security, extending beyond the Korean Peninsula to Europe. Both countries have committed to reinforcing their collaboration in response to these developments.
