Yoon Calls for Measures to Protect Koreans Amid Escalating Iran-Israel Conflicts

SEOUL: President Yoon Suk Yeol has urged comprehensive measures to safeguard Korean nationals as tensions between Israel and Iran intensify, the presidential office announced on Saturday. The call to action follows a series of developments in the Middle East, where Israel has launched airstrikes in response to Iran's earlier ballistic missile attacks. According to Yonhap News Agency, President Yoon emphasized that the foremost priority is the protection of Korean citizens residing in both Iran and Israel. He instructed that all necessary precautions and plans should be devised to address potential escalations in the conflict. The government has decided to establish an around-the-clock task force dedicated to monitoring the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. This task force will be responsible for strategizing and implementing necessary measures to ensure the safety of Korean nationals in the region.
