Hyundai Rotem Reports Significant Increase in Third-Quarter Net Income

SEOUL: Hyundai Rotem Co. announced a significant rise in its third-quarter net income, reporting a 159.8 percent increase to 103.8 billion won, equivalent to approximately US$74.7 million. According to Yonhap News Agency, the company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it achieved an operating profit of 137.4 billion won for the quarter, a substantial increase from 41.1 billion won recorded in the same period the previous year. The company's sales also saw an 18 percent rise, amounting to 1.09 trillion won. The reported operating profit exceeded expectations by 16.8 percent, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm affiliated with Yonhap News Agency. However, the estimate for the net profit was not available. Analysts view this financial performance as a strong indicator of the company's growth trajectory in the current fiscal year.
