Seoul: The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on Tuesday its initiative to assist non-Korean residents in accessing financial services at local banks through newly issued promotional materials. These efforts aim to bridge the gap for foreign nationals facing challenges due to language and time barriers. According to Yonhap News Agency, the financial regulator has distributed the financial guide book to 88 bank outlets across the country that specialize in services for foreigners. These outlets offer holiday services and interpretation assistance to facilitate smoother financial transactions for foreign residents. The FSS emphasized the importance of financial education for foreign nationals adjusting to Korea's financial landscape but recognized the obstacles that may limit their educational opportunities. To address these challenges, the FSS has produced promotional materials that highlight their financial education content for foreign residents. The materials feature a QR code that allows users to download the "Financial Guide Book for Foreigners in Korea" available in eight languages, including English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. Additionally, the "Financial Guide Video for Foreigners in Korea" is provided in four languages to further support their financial education efforts.
