Goyang: President Yoon Suk Yeol vowed Tuesday to complete the reforms his administration has started in the medical, pension, labor, and education sectors despite resistance. Yoon made the remarks during a gathering of leaders of the Saemaul Movement, which began as a government-led campaign in the 1970s to promote growth in rural areas. According to Yonhap News Agency, Yoon addressed approximately 10,000 members from across the nation at the KINTEX exhibition hall in Goyang, just northwest of Seoul. He highlighted the significance of the Saemaul Movement as a great reform movement that changed society and history. He emphasized that the government's current focus on the four areas of reform represents another crucial task for the nation, noting that the survival of the nation could depend on these efforts. Yoon acknowledged the challenges that come with reform, stating that resistance is an inevitable part of the process. He attributed past failures in reform to administrations that gave up when faced with resistance. However, he assured that his government and he himself will not succumb to such pressures and are committed to completing the reforms for the future of the country.
