Seoul: Kia Corp., South Korea's second-largest automaker, announced a 4.5 percent increase in its February sales compared to the previous year. This growth is attributed to rising demand in both domestic and international markets.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia reported selling 253,850 vehicles last month, a jump from the 242,917 units sold in February of the previous year. The company's domestic sales saw a 4.5 percent increase, amounting to 46,003 units. Meanwhile, international sales rose by 4.4 percent, reaching 207,462 units.
Kia's bestselling model for the month was the Sportage sport utility vehicle (SUV), with 46,287 units sold worldwide. The Sorento followed with sales of 24,173 units, while the Seltos rounded out the top three with 24,040 units sold.
A representative from Kia stated that the company aims to sustain its sales momentum by introducing competitive new models, including the EV4 electric vehicle and the Tasman pickup truck, in the future.
