NCSOFT Teams Up with Tencent to Launch Blade & Soul 2 in China

Seoul: South Korean gaming giant NCSOFT Corp. announced plans to launch Blade and Soul 2, its multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), in China next month. The company has collaborated with Tencent, its local publishing partner, to prepare for the release on April 3.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the partnership with Tencent involved extensive pre-launch testing to optimize the game for Chinese players. NCSOFT has tailored specific content for the Chinese market and made improvements to the gameplay mechanics, mobile performance, and user interface.

Blade and Soul 2 features a flexible character class-switching system and dynamic combat mechanics. A significant aspect of the game is that top-tier equipment is available solely through in-game play, not via microtransactions, reducing players' temptation to rely on purchases for character upgrades.

Choi Yong-jun, the lead developer of Blade and Soul 2, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with Tencent, stating that they have worked closely to enhance the game's quality for Chinese players.
