Senior Diplomats of North Korea and Russia Discuss High-Level Meeting to Boost Bilateral Relations

Pyongyang: Senior diplomats from North Korea and Russia have engaged in discussions to arrange a high-level meeting intended to enhance bilateral relations, as reported by a Russian news agency on Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko met with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Jong-gu, and Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui during his visit to Pyongyang. The discussions focused on key issues concerning the development of bilateral relations, including the scheduling of political contacts at high and top levels, as noted by the Russian foreign ministry.

The diplomats also shared views on reaffirming their commitment to the comprehensive strategic partnership signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un last year. This partnership includes a finalized defense pact between Moscow and Pyongyang, which aims to provide mutual military assistance if either side is attacked.
